Joyce Mansfield draws artistic inspiration from her faith in God and her experiences with friends and family.  Taking its name from the popular folk song, Kumbayah invites us to share in the warm circle of the artist's friends as they enjoy an evening of singing and guitar playing.

Mansfield’s collage technique involves assembling and pasting materials.  Similar to artist Al Loving, whose artwork is displayed right next to Mansfield’s, Joyce constructs her collages from pieces of brightly colored, painted paper.  But while Loving's piece is formed and glued to resemble a relief sculpture, Manfield's fragments are affixed to a solid ground, creating the effect of a traditional painting.
